💔 BREAKING: Two Confirmed Dead as Three-Storey Student Hostel Collapses in Anambra

At least two people have been confirmed dead, while three others have been rescued, after the Elite Five Star Lodge, a three-storey, 60-room hostel near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, collapsed on Sunday night in Amaokpala, Anambra State.

According to eyewitnesses, a loud noise was heard moments before the building gave way, trapping several occupants, most of whom were students.

A large-scale rescue operation involving the Nigerian Red Cross, emergency agencies, the fire service, police, and other responders is ongoing.

The rescued victims are currently receiving medical treatment, while search efforts continue to determine whether more people remain trapped beneath the rubble.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse and have urged residents to stay away from the scene to allow emergency workers unhindered access.
