Two men who had reportedly been in custody since 2022 without being taken to court have finally been discharged and acquitted after Citizens’ Gavel took up their cases.
According to the organization, one man was arrested over allegations involving slippers similar to those of a complainant, while the other was arrested during a police raid while hawking.
After years of legal battles and multiple court appearances, the prosecution reportedly failed to produce a single witness. The court eventually upheld the lawyers’ No Case Submission and acquitted both men.
After nearly four years behind bars, they are finally free. 🧡⚖️
