In February 2024, Sisi Quadri was preparing for a personal and emotional milestone the one year remembrance of his late mother, who had died on February 22, 2023. On February 18, he sent money home to support the preparations for the memorial rites.
However, just a day later, on February 19, while on a movie set, he suddenly collapsed. His family rushed him to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with malaria and received treatment. He was discharged on February 26, but he continued to complain of intense stomach pain, likely due to ulcers.
Two days later, on February 28, he began experiencing persistent hiccups, which alarmed his family. Hiccups of that nature can be a symptom of kidney-related complications. He was taken to another hospital, which referred him to the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Ogbomosho for more intensive care.
Though he walked into LAUTECH on his own, his condition rapidly deteriorated. He was admitted to the Accident and Emergency unit, where doctors diagnosed him with renal failure—a serious form of kidney failure. Plans were being made to start dialysis, but before that could happen, he passed away.
Sisi Quadri d!ed on March 1, 2024, at the age of 44. His d e a t h was confirmed by family members, including his younger brother Muftau Oyebamiji. Tributes poured in from across Nollywood. Colleagues such as Muyiwa Ademola, Folorunsho Adeola, and others expressed their shock and sorrow over the loss of the actor, known for his sharp wit and memorable roles in Yoruba films.
He was bur!ed the following day, March 2, 2024, in front of his home in Iwo, Osun State, in a Muslim ceremony led by his family.
Ultimately, Sisi Quadri’s d e a t h was the result of kidney complications that escalated quickly. The initial symptoms his collapse, complaints of ulcers, and persistent hiccups were signs of a much more serious condition that claimed his life before treatment could take effect. His passing was a major loss to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
