Veteran Nigerian actor Jide Kosoko has experienced the profound loss of three of his wives over the years, each under different circumstances. 
First and Second Wives
Kosoko’s first wife, Alhaja Sherifat Abimbola Kosoko (née Lawal), passed away in 1993 due to complications arising from childbirth. Tragically, his second wife also d!ed within a year of his first wife’s passing, in November 1993, from similar childbirth-related complications. These consecutive losses were deeply distressing for the actor, who was under 40 at the time.  
Third Wife: Henrietta Kosoko
After some time, Kosoko married Henrietta Kosoko, a fellow Nollywood actress. Henrietta gained prominence in the Nigerian film industry with notable roles in movies such as Omolade and Onome. She passed away in June 2016 at the age of 53 after battling diabetes and experiencing complications from a previous auto accident.  
Current Wife
Following Henrietta’s d e at h, Kosoko remained married to his fourth wife, Kareemat (also referred to as Alhaja Bimbo in some sources). As of the latest available information, she is his only surviving spouse. 
Reflections on Polygamy
Despite having multiple marriages, Kosoko has expressed that becoming a polygamist was not his initial intention. He attributes his multiple marriages to life circumstances and personal losses rather than a deliberate choice to practice polygamy. He has also emphasized the importance of love and cooperation among his spouses during their time together. 
In total, Jide Kosoko has lost three wives: his first two in the early 1990s and Henrietta in 2016. He continues to honor their memories while cherishing his current marriage.
